Short Term Disability
NYSC provides an optional salary continuation plan through ShelterPoint. Under the group STD payroll plan, you may receive replacement income for a period of up to 26 weeks in a 52-week period for a qualifying non-occupational injury, illness or maternity leave. If you elect this optional benefit, you will receive 50% of your gross salary up to a maximum of $340 per week.
STD benefits are available to eligible full time employees who work 30 or more hours per week except employees who live in NY or NJ. Employees who live in these states have state mandated disability benefits. ShelterPoint requires employees to meet a 7-day waiting period before the STD benefit will begin payments.
